Animal Shelter to Open in Liberty!

A new, state-of-the-art animal shelter is set to open in the next few weeks in Liberty. Led by Town of Liberty Dog Control Officer Joanne Gerow and with help from the generous donation of Alan Gerry and the Gerry Foundation, the shelter will be located on Old Monticello Road and will feature space for up to 18 dogs in its general population area with an additional space for six dogs in the facility’s quarantine area (to stop the spread of diseases). The kennels will be fitted with radiant floor heating and covered in high quality epoxy, and will also feature an outdoor dog run.

An official grand opening for the shelter will take place soon.

The facility will also house Catskill Animal Rescue (CARE). Public adoptions through Catskill Animal Rescue Inc will be available on a case-by-case basis.
