RD Rural Development

 

This district is intended to allow the Town to grow while providing a reasonable measure of protection for sensitive areas and encouraging the preservation of open space.  It is designed to accommodate growth and a wide range of uses but under carefully controlled conditions protecting the public health and safety.

 

Principal Permitted Uses

1.                  Dairy, livestock and poultry farming, the raising of crops, vineyards and orchards.

2.                  Nurseries and tree farms.

3.                  Green houses.

4.                  Hunting and fishing camps and wildlife preserves.

5.                  Kennels.

6.                  Single-family dwellings. (including mobile homes.)

7.                  Boarding or tourist homes.

8.                  Convenience retail establishments.

9.                  Personal service shops.

10.              Business and professional offices.

11.              Restaurants and taverns.

12.              Funeral homes.

 

Special Uses

 

1.                  Natural resource extraction and processing operations.

2.                  Farm equipment sales and service operations.

3.                  Commercial stables and riding academies.

4.                  Cemeteries.

5.                  Animal hospitals.

6.                  Farm and garden stores and feed and fertilizer businesses.

7.                  Auction barns.

8.                  Single-family cluster development.

9.                  Sawmills and other wood products industries.

10.              Public and semi-public uses.

1.                  Minimum Lot Size = 60,000 square feet.

2.                  Minimum Lot Width & Depth = 200 feet

3.                  Minimum Yards     

a.       Front = 50 feet

b.      Side = 25 feet

c.       Rear 25 feet

4.                  Maximum Building Height 35 feet

5.                  Maximum Building Coverage 15%
