Brian P. Rourke, Esq.
Mr. Rourke is the managing partner and a founding member of the Law Offices of Brian P. Rourke, P. C. in Liberty, NY. He is a graduate of Binghamton University (BS, 1986) and Pace University School of Law (JD, 1998), where he graduated with academic honors. Prior to entering private practice in Liberty, NY, he served as corporate counsel to a Fortune 500 insurance company and then worked for Cozen & O’Connor, LLP, a global law firm specializing in insurance litigation. Prior to his legal career, Mr. Rourke had a successful career in both the public and private sector and managed multi-million dollar risk financing budgets.
In 2001, Mr. Rourke was appointed Village of Liberty Justice and in 2003 he was appointed and then elected as Town of Liberty Justice. He was re-elected for three additional terms and presided as Judge until June of 2017 when he voluntary left the bench to run for Town Supervisor. In November 2017, Mr. Rourke was elected Town Supervisor with a remarkable 82% of the vote. He is now poised to lead the Town of Liberty into a new era.
Mr. Rourke is also a small business owner and an active member of several civic organizations in the greater Sullivan County community. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Sullivan County Visitors Association, the Liberty Community Development Corporation and the Callicoon Co-operative Insurance Company. In 2017, he was the recipient of the Greenberg Award of Excellence from Begin Again Transitional Services (B.A.T.S.), a shelter for homeless veterans of which he served as a Director with great pride. That same year Mr. Rourke was presented the Distinguished Achievement Award by the Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce for his commitment to the highest business and community ideals.
