Santa Express is Coming to Town of Liberty, New York

Local families are invited to join Santa and his friends from the North Pole for an evening of music, dancing and Christmas magic!

LIBERTY, N.Y. (December 8, 2015) – The Town of Liberty will host the Santa Express on Saturday, December 12. The Santa Express is a 50 feet long musical scene that sparkles with twinkling lights. North Main Street will be closed to traffic for festivities beginning at 6 p.m. Families are welcomed to meet Santa Claus and his friends from the North Pole, sing, dance, and enjoy hot cocoa, coffee and cookies.

Prior to Santa’s arrival, singer Gwen Nieves will entertain the crowd with Christmas carols on the deck of Charlie’s Pizza. Saturday’s free event is a result of many hands, including the Greater Liberty Chamber of Commerce, ShopRite in Liberty, the Liberty Police Department, and Liberty Fitness Club.

“We are very excited to be a part of this event,” said Liberty Fitness Center owner Cindy Faracasse. “There is nothing more important than our families and children, and the Santa Express is bringing back the true meaning of Christmas.”

“The Town of Liberty is thrilled to be a stop on the Santa Express 100 plus mile journey,” said Liberty Town Supervisor Charlie Barbuti. “This has become one of the most highly anticipated events of the year.”

The mission of the Santa Express is to spread the magic of the season with a message of love, hope and peace for all. Created in Eldred in 2005, the Santa Express has grown into a wonderful Christmas tradition and visits 11 towns in Sullivan and Orange Counties over 5 magical nights.
