New Liberty Restaurant is the First Business to Take Advantage of Mentor Program

Greater Liberty Chamber of Commerce offers expertise to aid startup businesses.

LIBERTY, N.Y. (February 19, 2016) – The Greater Liberty Chamber of Commerce is doing all it can to help startup businesses in the Town of Liberty succeed. A mentoring program has been developed to provide business owners with advice on subjects ranging from customer growth and service to layout and design.

Abdus Samad is the first business owner to take advantage of the program. Mr. Samad opened his restaurant, Dhani’s Curry Melt, on Main Street in September. He said he chose Liberty because it was an affordable location with no Indian restaurant in the vicinity. Business has been steady thanks to the quality food, and now Samad says he has the interior design help he needs to grow. “We started with mostly takeout,” said Samad. “Thanks to the help of this program, I will be able to provide seating and expand my business.”

“Running any business can be difficult,” said Greater Liberty Chamber of Commerce President Russell Reeves. “Our goal is to support new business owners with all the tools they need to be successful. This program is just one component of our renewed effort to make Liberty business-friendly.”

The mentor program is focusing on restaurants first but will expand to assist all local businesses in the future. Interested businesses are encouraged to contact the Greater Liberty Chamber of Commerce at 845-292-9797 or info@LibertyNYChamber.com.
