Greater Liberty Chamber of Commerce Hosts Fall Events

Scarecrow decorating contest and murder mystery dinner are on the October calendar.

LIBERTY, N.Y. (September 22, 2016) – Fall is in the air, and the Town of Liberty Chamber of Commerce is providing area businesses and residents with two great ways to celebrate the season.

Businesses are encouraged to take part in the 5th Annual Scarecrow Decorating Contest to promote their business and the business community. Scarecrows must be made of homemade materials and constructed on a wooden base. Creations will be judged on overall creativity, best use of material and style. The deadline for entry is Friday, October 7. All participants will receive a scarecrow photo advertisement on the Liberty Chamber Facebook page.

The Chamber is also organizing “Polter-Heist,” a murder mystery dinner. The dinner game show will take place on Sunday, October 30 at 5 p.m. in the Liberty Diner at 25 Sullivan Avenue in Liberty. There will be a costume contest and fun prizes. The cost is $40 for chamber members and $45 for non-chamber members, and seating is limited.
