Registration Open for Youth Winter Recreation Programs

LIBERTY, N.Y. (November 30, 2016) – Cold weather doesn’t have to mean a lack of exercise for children in the Town of Liberty this winter. Registration is now open for recreational basketball and wrestling programs hosted by the town’s Parks and Recreation Department.

“No matter what the season, we have opportunities for local children to stay active,” said Town of Liberty Parks and Recreation Director Brian Scardefield. “Our youth basketball and wrestling programs teach skills while providing fun, friendship, physical activity and sportsmanship.”

The 6-week youth basketball program is open to boys and girls in grades 2 through 6. It will take place Saturday mornings in January and February in the Liberty High School gymnasium. The cost is $20 per child for Liberty residents and $30 per child for nonresidents.

The Warriors Wrestling Club is a competitive program for children in grades 2 through 6. This program will be held on Saturday mornings in the Liberty High School wrestling room at 10 am starting on February 25 and running through March 25. The cost is $20 per child for Liberty residents and $30 per child for nonresidents.
