Town seeks public’s input in creating an original slogan best representing Liberty.

LIBERTY, N.Y. (April 17, 2018) – The Town of Liberty announced today a special slogan contest. The contest invites the public to create and submit their unique, original slogan that best represents the identity of Liberty. The Town of Liberty plans to use the winning slogan for the marketing and promotion of the Town, which may be utilized on signage, the Town’s website, social media and printed materials.

Slogans should be a short, two to eight word, catch phrase that focuses on the Town of Liberty people and places, characterizing what makes the Town of Liberty a special place to live or visit. Submissions are now open and all entries must be received by Friday, June 15th by 4:00 p.m. The contest is also open to all Town and Village of Liberty residents with the exception of Town Elected Officials and their immediate families. Multiple entries are acceptable.

“We are excited to be begin the slogan contest, we feel that it will be a great activity that the whole Town can get behind, bring people together and have some fun with,” said Liberty Town Supervisor Brian Rourke. “We are confident that we will find the perfect slogan, highlighting what makes the Town of Liberty so special.”

Entries, along with full contact information (first and last name, address, phone number and a valid email address), can be submitted electronically with the subject line of: Slogan Contest to ldutcher@townofliberty.org. Or, entries can be mailed or hand delivered to the Town Hall at: Town of Liberty Town Hall, ATTN: Town Clerk/Slogan Contest, 120 North Main Street, Liberty, NY 12754.

The winners will be awarded a Gift Basket filled with products donated from local Town of Liberty businesses. There will be a first, second and third place prize awarded. Semi-finalists slogan selections will be performed by a vote from the Liberty Town Board. The semi-finalists will then be opened to the Town of Liberty public, and finalists will then be chosen via the public. A final selection will be chosen by a vote from the Liberty Town Board from the semi-finalists chosen by the public. The winning slogan will be announced in July.
