The Town of Liberty, NY is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as Part Time Data Collector.
This is a combination of office and field work of a routine which requires the collection of real property data on residential and/or commercial properties according to standard guidelines and includes the verification and processing of accumulated data for the purpose of making real estate appraisals for tax assessments. Clerical, computer skills and other related duties may also be required. Supervision is received from the Assessor; however, technical direction may be received from an employee in an intermediate level position.
Typical work activities include:
• Taking data and preparing a sketch of buildings.
• Ability to read building plans, site plans and tax maps.
• Working knowledge of general math to determine size and area.
• Some understanding of construction materials and building process.
Applicant must possess valid driver’s license and complete Fundamentals of Data Collection and Commercial Data Collection courses after appointment.
This is a Civil Service Position.
