Town of Liberty Board of Assessment Review Looking for New Members

Be a part of your local government! The Town of Liberty is looking to add two members to its Board of Assessment Review (B.A.R.).

 Position Description:
The local assessor determines the taxable value of real property.  Taxpayers who feel their assessments are unequal, excessive, or that their property is misclassified, have a right to have their assessments reviewed by the Board of Assessment Review (B.A.R.).

The B.A.R. is vested with the duty and responsibility of hearing assessment complaints.  This includes exercising judgment and discretion to render an impartial, objective determination on complaints of assessments brought before them.

This is a paid position, terms are for five years, and B.A.R. members typically work 20-30 hours per year.

If interested please contact Ms. Laurie Dutcher, Town Clerk via email at l.dutcher@townofliberty.org or call (845) 292-5110 for further details.
