Boil Water Order Rescind Notice
Dear Supervisor DeMayo,
Laboratory results of total coliform analysis from water samples collected within the Ferndale Water District on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, and Wednesday, January 28, 2026, indicated the water supply to be of a satisfactory bacteriological quality at the time of sampling. The boil water order issued by this department on Friday, January 23, 2026, is rescinded and normal use of this supply may resume.
Public notification must be made in a manner reasonably calculated to reach all persons served by the water supply within 24 hours. One or more of the following forms of delivery are acceptable:
- local broadcast media such as radio or television
- hand delivery of notice to persons served by the water system
Do not “deliver” the notice to any mail box used by the Postal Service. This is aviolation of Domestic Mail Manual 508.3.1.3, possibly 18 USC 1725, and the letter carriers will remove and discard them.
- posting of the notice in conspicuous locations throughout the area served by the water system
